Grounding and Centering
Go somewhere outside for this and find a place that feels good to you – a park if you live in town, a field, a woodland – somewhere you like the view or by a tree that you like. Take some time to feel the air, hear the sounds, and become quiet in yourself. Then focus on Grounding and Centering yourself
- Centre the weight of your body through the middle of your feet into the earth.
- Bend your knees just a little
- Drop your hips as if about to sit
- Feel your feet on the ground
- Rest into this position
- Let your spine lift you upwards through your head into the sky
- Lifting your arms above your head, take a full breath to the bottom and tops of your lungs
- As you let your breath out bring your arms down and repeat twice more.
- Now spend a minute with your arms up to the heavens
- Then a minute with them horizontal
- Then a minute where they hang naturally towards the earth.
- Have a sense of balance with nature and withion yourself
You should feel grounded and centered and refreshed.
