While our other four senses (sight, hearing, smell, and taste) are located in specific parts of the body, the sense of touch is found all over, the hands are one of the most sensitive parts of our body. We move our arms to express ourselves and to manipulate the outer world. They are particularly human limbs since most other animals use their fore limbs primarily for getting around. We see the world in these five different ways; these are five ways of feeling. Touch is the simplest fundamental basis of our awareness of being alive. We are "touched" in our hearts by many things - a rose, a sunset, a new born baby, or love, for example. A blind person uses touch to ‘see’ the face of another person. We have all touched a loved one with a caress, a subtle squeeze of the hand or a gentle stroke. It is by touch that intention is relayed.
We are not as a whole a very ‘touchy feely’ sort of nation and for many touch is missing from there lives-those who live alone for instance. Many people have experienced ‘unsafe’ touch in the form of abuse. So the quality of touch used by a therapist is really important. Touch is essential to the way we establish trust between the giver and receiver. Only when trust is present can we really let-go and reconnect to our own feelings and needs of the body, mind and spirit.
Touch has a great healing power it brings huge benefits and value to the healing process. As in the Deepak Chopra quote on the right I see myself as an Alchemist.
Following a car accident when I was 28 I was left with debilitating back pain and was told all I could expect was a wheel chair at 40. Then 10 years ago I was introduced to complimentary therapy and I experienced relief from physical pain for the first time in 20 years. This experience motivated me to train as a holistic therapist, choosing modalities that complemented each other to support your mind, body and spirit and encourage a balanced flow of energy throughout your whole self. I work with anyone who wants to feel better and find a new way of being. That includes those who are well but also those who are in difficulty, structurally, emotionally, energetically and nutritionally.
I practice Tai Chi, Qi Gong, 5 Rhythms Dance, Biodanza and Meditation, as well as receiving all of the therapies I practice on a regular basis to ensure that I maximise my own vitality and wellbeing as well as spending time in stillness.
I am a certified Zero Balancer (Cert ZB), Creative Kinesiologist (KFRP), Reiki Master / Teacher (MUKRF) and also hold a Diploma in Indian Head Massage (from the London College of Champissage) and Certificates in Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage and Ayurvedic (Yoga) Massage.
I am currently studying Deep Massage with David Lauterstein. No oils are used with this massage; therefore the skills can readily be used to compliment Zero Balancing and other modalities. The effect of the work is unique. It doesn’t just relax muscles; it is deeply satisfying to the mind and spirit and gives clients a new sense of themselves.

'The word 'alchemy' is a code word. It stands for turning human beings into gold, turning our base qualities of fear, ignorance, hatred & shame into love and fulfillment. So a teacher who can teach you how to turn yourself into a free, loving person is an alchemist, and always has been.'
